On September 10-12 the 16th International Franchise Exhibition BUYBRAND Expo and the international forum “Franchising in Russia: driver of the economic development of the region” took place in Expocentre, Moscow. The exhibition and the forum were supported with the CCI of Russia, “OPORA ROSSII”, Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Russian Export Centre and Moscow’s Small Business State Budgetary Administration.
204 brands from 17 countries participated in the exhibition. Russian companies were represented by 20 Russian cities, from Kaliningrad to Yakutsk. 8 962 visitors were registered for three days, that is 15% higher than a year before. Entrepreneurs came from all regions of Russia and 33 countries of the world, among them Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Armenia, Turkey, Tadzhikistan, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Romania, Czech Republic, Kirghizia, Moldova and others!
Such brands as Pizza Hut, Maria Kitchens and “Edim Doma!” kitchen furniture, Natur House, MINISO, Dr. Koffer New York and many others took part at the exhibition.
32% of participants were represented by retail companies, including pharmacies, optics, electric tools, bedlinen, clothes and footwear, jewelry shops and many others. Service sector franchises made 35% of the total number of participants and were best remembered for variety of business options demonstrated, such as interactive entertainment parks, betting business, scooters rent, trampoline centers, laboratory diagnostics and many others.
HoReCa sector (cafes, restaurants, bakeries and fast food outlets) occupied about 24% of the exposition. Share of franchise companies in production sector also increased. For the first time franchises for pressure hose maintenance and unit construction were presented at the exhibition.
Total investment potential of the visitors to the exhibition equaled to about 60 billion rubles. Ekaterina Soyak, General Director of EMTG, the exhibition organizer, says: “This year we attracted more visitors from regions and former USSR countries. This is the audience franchisers expect to meet at the exhibition. We see an upward trend of growth of average investment potential of the visitors, number of entrepreneurs ready to invest over 2 million rubles compared to the last years grew by about 20% over the previous year. Entrepreneurs and investors are prepared, ready to ask right and correct questions, in most cases they know what they want.”
70 speakers took part in the program of international forum “Franchising in Russia: driver of the economic development of the region”, among them representatives of federal, legislative and executive authorities, as well as owners and top managers of such brands as “Maria Kitchens”, “Gemotest” Laboratory, “WillGood”, “Rosinter Restaurants”, Perrino, Pizza Hut, etc. Over 300 delegates visited panel discussions, seminars and master classes. 48 entrepreneurs studied in the Franchiser School.
